From Celebration to Silence
A Himalayan Journey
March 20–31, 2027 • Nepal
Led by Bronwyn Ayla, LAc
There are certain places that change the quality of attention itself.
For centuries, practitioners have traveled to the Himalayas not only for refuge, but for revelation. Temples, monasteries, mountain passes, and sacred valleys became places of practice because they alter something in us — slowing the mind, refining perception, and returning us to what feels essential.
This pilgrimage was created for those called toward that kind of encounter.
Beginning with Holi in Kathmandu and culminating in the stillness of Kyanjin Gompa deep in the Langtang Valley, this journey follows an intentional arc: celebration, threshold, ascent, silence, and return.
This is not a sightseeing trip, a luxury wellness retreat, or a trek with a few spiritual practices added on.
It is a held initiatory pilgrimage through one of the great sacred landscapes of the world.

The Journey
We begin in Kathmandu on the eve of Holi, Nepal’s festival of color. The city comes alive with music, laughter, pigment, and celebration — an immersion into joy, impermanence, and collective aliveness. That evening, we gather for a sound healing session and welcome dinner designed to ground the body after travel and open the pilgrimage well.
From there, we move toward the threshold.
In Patan, we walk through ancient temple squares before continuing into the foothills to Neydo Monastery, where we spend the night within a living Buddhist monastery and retreat center. We receive teachings and blessings from resident monks and begin orienting toward the quieter rhythm of the mountains.
The next morning, after meditation practice, we drive north toward Langtang National Park. Our trek follows a quieter and more contemplative route through Sherpagaon, avoiding the busiest trekking corridor and allowing greater spaciousness along the way.
We move gradually through Tamang villages, rhododendron forests, river valleys, and alpine landscapes toward Kyanjin Gompa — the spiritual heart of the valley.
The pace is designed for presence rather than performance.
There will be daily morning practice with Bronwyn including meditation, breathwork, movement, and yoga, along with evening gatherings for reflection, teaching, and integration as the pilgrimage unfolds.
At altitude, we stay in thoughtfully selected eco-ocomfort lodges with attached western bathrooms, solar power, and heated beds where available, allowing the body to rest deeply within a remote Himalayan environment.

Kyanjin Gompa
We spend two nights in Kyanjin Gompa at 3,870 meters, surrounded by glaciers, prayer flags, and Himalayan peaks.
This is the heart - center of the pilgrimage.
For those who wish, there is an optional acclimatisation hike to Lower Kyanjin Ri for panoramic mountain views. Others may choose to remain in the valley — resting, writing, walking quietly, visiting the monastery, or simply being still.
One evening, we gather for meditation practice within the Sound Room at Kyanjin Gompa monastery itself.
There are experiences that cannot be manufactured through workshops or explained through language. They emerge through attention, landscape, practice, and silence held over time.
This pilgrimage is designed to create the conditions for that encounter.
On the return to Kathmandu, we close the pilgrimage with an Ayurvedic wellness session — completing the arc that the welcome sound bath opened.

About Bronwyn
Bronwyn Ayla has spent three decades immersed in healing arts, contemplative practice, and spiritual study, with much of her personal formation shaped through time in the Himalayas and across Asia.
Her work bridges embodied practice, energetic medicine, somatic awareness, spiritual transformation, and lived integration. She first encountered Reiki within the Himalayan regions many years ago, and the landscapes, monasteries, and lineages of Nepal have continued to deeply influence both her life and teaching ever since.
Rather than approaching pilgrimage as tourism, Bronwyn creates spaces of intentional practice, reverence, and meaningful encounter — where landscape itself becomes part of the teaching.
This pilgrimage reflects a journey she has wanted to share for many years.
